Benefits of Membership

Being a member of ELWOA offers many benefits.  
**Note:  Only members are entitled to representation and services from the ELWOA association.  Annual membership runs from the AGM to the day before the next year’s AGM.  The AGM is held annually on the Sunday of the August long weekend.

Be represented by an organized group which liaises with the city to: 
  • Keep roadways maintained and safe 
  • Keep taxes fair for waterfront owners 
  • Discuss boat launches and recycling and garbage collection issues

Be advised of safety issues:
  • Fire safety and fire bans  
  • Boating and water safety
  • Bear Wise
  • Winter and ice safety

Have access to the private Members Section of the ELWOA website containing: 
  • AGM and executive meeting minutes 
  • Special reports/announcements from the Executive
  • ELWOA Constitution
  • ELWOA newsletters (NewsFlash) which keep members up-to-date on waterfront living

Membership with FOCA (Federation of Cottagers Association)

As a member of ELWOA, you are also a member of 
FOCA. FOCA is the Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Associations, a not-for-profit organization representing volunteer associations and individual property owners all across Ontario. They are your provincial voice. Associations  help support FOCA's mission to protect thriving and sustainable waterfronts across Ontario.
