The Elliot Lake Lakeshore FireSmart Community (ELLFC) was established in 2016 to help help waterfront property owners on Dunlop, Quirke and Popeye Lakes protect their homes and families from the effects of wildfire. The thrust of the program is education and empowerment for owners to reduce the devastation of wildfire to personal property.
In 2020 ELWOA brought (ELLFC) under its umbrella. Despite being affiliated with ELWOA, this program is intended for ALL waterfront property owners, whether or not they are members of ELWOA. Fire prevention is the responsibility of each and every individual.
