Social Committee

Social events are about bringing people together and reminding them that there are others who share the same values.  They help members meet new friends and nurture old friends, create warm feelings and great new memories.  Volunteers are the backbone of every event and community participation is what encourages volunteers' continued involvement. 

Past events have included:
  • a September Fore-For-Fun (nine-and-dine) at the local golf course
  • a December Winter Social at a local hospitality establishment on Dunlop Lake
  • a March ice fishing social with hot chocolate and skating on Dunlop Lake
  • a May community spring tailgate yard sale at the Dunlop/Hwy 108 Boat Launch
  • a July 'pioneer paddle' on July 1 on Dunlop Lake
Due to covid 19 restrictions, events have been on hold to ensure participant safety. This years' 2022 Fore-For-Fun was cancelled due to insufficient numbers.

There are no further Social Events scheduled for the 2022/2023 Season due to rising cases of covid 19. We look forward to meeting again when it is safe to do so.

The Elliot Lake Waterfront Owners Association (ELWOA) is a non-profit, voluntary organization, which provides information, representation and assistance on issues that affect the interests of its members who are waterfront property owners within the city of Elliot Lake.
